Culinary Trends to Look For in 2015

The National Restaurant Association releases its What’s Hot Culinary Forecast at the beginning of each year. This prominent report is a result of over 1,300 professional chefs’ responses to questions about everything from profit to pickles. Their responses have laid out their predictions on what people like you want to see on menus and grocery shelves for the next year. We’re thrilled to see that some of the top trends for 2015 fit with who we are and what we have to offer – let us know if you agree in the comments!

Top-Food-Trends

Culinary Themes

#1 – Environmental Sustainability
#2 – Natural Ingredients/minimally processed food
#5 – Gluten-free cuisine

When it comes to sustainable meat, Niman Ranch pioneered the industry. We’ve been farming livestock sustainably since 1972, and we’ve worked side by side with Dr. Temple Grandin and Global Animal Partnership to come up with the strictest protocols in use today. Our community of over 725 family farmers and ranchers practices sustainable agriculture and humane animal husbandry, resulting in the finest tasting meat on the market.

Concerning gluten-free and natural trends, all our products are gluten-free, use natural ingredients and contain no nitrates or nitrites. We also offer minimally processed items besides our fresh items, such as our pulled pork and bacon. This makes any Niman Ranch product an excellent addition to your family’s table.

Other Food Items/Ingredients

#1 – Farm/estate branded items

As you already know, our farmers are the backbone of our community. We’re committed to sharing their story, so we’ve worked hard to create materials that allow your local chefs and retailers to better help share that story with you. Never hesitate to ask questions when dining out or looking for a specific item in your grocery store.

This past year, we shared photos and stories from Paul Brown of Alderland Farm and Adair Crowe of Crowe Farms in our Family Farm Update series on Facebook. This next year, we’ll be following two new farms in their agricultural journey from spring to fall. We encourage you to like our page, then like, comment or share these posts when you see them! Your involvement helps show our farmers you care.

Perennial Favorites in 2015

#1 – Barbecue
#9 – Pulled Pork

Our two new pulled pork flavors launched this fall: Pulled Pork with Hoisin Soy Barbecue Sauce and Smokey Chipotle Barbecue Sauce. With both barbecue and pulled pork making the Top 10 Perennial Favorites list for 2015, we guarantee these new items will make any family dinner complete!
