Farmer in Illinois
Our farm supports three families.
The Heun family farm was bought by Steve Heun’s great-grandfather in 1917 and has been run by the family ever since. It has seen the advancement of agriculture from horse driven equipment to modern tractors. They’ve always raised livestock, now housing pigs in buildings where his grandparents kept horses and milked cows. In order to preserve the land, they maintain grass waterways, manage wooded plots on the farm and have land in conservation reserve along creeks and streams.
