Farmer in Iowa
I grew up on this farm...I decided to try raising pigs because they're more interesting to me than other types of livestock.
The land that Tory Waddingham farms was purchased back in 1895, making him the fifth generation to work this land. He works side by side with his brother to raise around 150 hogs for Niman Ranch. They also grow corn, soybeans, alfalfa, grass hay and a substantial vegetable garden. Tory rotates his hogs on pasture with his crops each year and rents out a 60-acre cow pasture that’s never seen the blade of a till. They also raise free-range poultry and have established grassy waterways.
