It’s grilling season! And burgers are a crowd pleaser, allowing for customization at every level – seasonings, toppings, buns – the possibilities are endless! Whether burgers are in your grilling rotation or you’re looking for inspiration to grill more, we have you covered. Check out our tips for grilling the perfect burger.

Before you get started, gather everything you’ll need while grilling – utensils, plates, meat thermometer, timer – because once you get started, you’ll want to focus on cooking that perfect burger.

  1. Set your grill to high heat and allow to pre-heat, usually 15 minutes.
  2. Pat both sides of the burger dry with a paper towel and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Place the burger on the grill and close the lid.
  4. Cook using the chart below for your desired doneness. Ground beef should be cooked to a safe and savory 160°F.
  5. For a perfect finish, use a thermometer to measure the internal temperature of your burger. Remove the burgers from the heat when the thermometer reads 5°F lower than desired temperature.

Allow meat to rest 10 minutes before serving. The temperature will continue to rise 5°F.

Serve with your favorite toppings and enjoy!
