Marczyk-Burger-Night

Marczyk Fine Foods in Denver, CO has hosted Burger Night from Memorial Day to Labor Day since they opened back in 2002. This is their signature event, and it’s been said that they only shut down if the rain is hard enough to put out the coals. Both their locations offer Niman Ranch beef patties with outdoor seating – the perfect way to spend a summer evening.

Pete Marczyk, founder and owner, hosted their first Burger Night for charity three years ago. The event was so successful, he felt the need to look for more meaningful opportunities. When asked why they chose the Next Generation Scholarship Fund, Pete reflected: “As we were planning for the future and how we could work more closely with our partners, it occurred to us that the Next Generation Scholarship Fund was the charity we felt most connected to, and the one we wanted to participate in most meaningfully as a staff.”

The Eat A Burger, Fund A Farmer Burger Night was born that day. For one special Burger Night the last two years, they’ve fired up their grills to raise money for young farmers attending college across the country. A portion of proceeds from the cook out, coupled with donations taken at the register that entire week, totaled to more than $4,000 this year, which is quite the accomplishment. They even brought out the fryer to make some French fries in duck fat, and all their proceeds went to the Fund. It doesn’t get more deliciously generous than that!

This year, Paul, Andrea and Derek Brown of Alderland Farm drove all the way from Iowa to attend the event. Derek has received a scholarship from the Fund twice now, and has used that money to further his education. Ultimately, he hopes to return to their family farm. This, of course, makes Paul and Andrea very proud. They deeply value the connection between their family and the land.

If you find yourself in Denver on a Friday night one summer, come by and check it out! Regardless of if their hosting Eat A Burger, Fund A Farmer or not, you’ll still get your fill of the finest tasting meat in the world while supporting a great family business.
